Tecnet holds Select tier status in the Fortinet Engage Partner Program, with engineers certified through Fortinet Certified Fundamentals (FCF), Fortinet Certified Associate (FCA), and Fortinet Certified Professional (FCP) in Network Security.

90 office network refresh across British Columbia
An organization operating 90 offices across British Columbia was running on obsolete firewall and security appliances, aging switches and outdated Wi-Fi, with no reliable power backup. Tecnet managed a province wide refresh that deployed FortiGate firewalls in every office, alongside new access points, switches, UPS power backup, and standardized wiring and racking. The project improved network resilience and manageability across all 90 sites and was delivered within budget.
Software Management
Modernizing a BC law firm
A BC law firm was running on slow, unreliable connectivity that was holding up time sensitive legal workflows. As part of a wider modernization, Tecnet upgraded the firm’s network to FortiGate 40F firewalls alongside a move to Microsoft Teams Voice, Microsoft Entra and Office Online. The FortiGate upgrade eliminated the connectivity problems, giving staff fast and reliable access to internal systems and client files.

Yes. Tecnet is an authorized Fortinet partner and has been for more than five years. We are listed in the Fortinet partner directory and hold Select tier status in the Fortinet Engage Partner Program.
Our engineers are certified through Fortinet Certified Fundamentals (FCF), Fortinet Certified Associate (FCA), and Fortinet Certified Professional (FCP) in Network Security. FCP is the credential that covers day to day operation and configuration of Fortinet devices, which is the work most organizations need from a partner.
Yes. We have offices in both, and we support Fortinet environments across Metro Vancouver, Greater Victoria and Vancouver Island.
It depends on internet bandwidth, whether SSL inspection is enabled, how many sites are connected, and how many remote users need VPN or ZTNA access. A single site office of 25 to 50 people is usually well served by an entry level FortiGate such as the 40F or 70G, while organizations with heavy inspection requirements or multiple sites often need to move up a tier. We size this during the assessment rather than quoting a model sight unseen.
Yes. We regularly take over existing Fortinet environments, including ones originally configured by another provider. The first step is a configuration review to establish what is in place, what is still supported, and what needs attention before we assume management.
No. Fortinet is a strong platform and it suits most of the environments we work in, but we specify what fits the requirement and the budget. On a recent Wi-Fi project we evaluated Fortinet access points against Aruba and recommended Aruba, because it delivered the coverage the client needed at a lower cost.
