Cybersecurity/Managed Detection & Response (MDR)

Managed Detection & Response (MDR)

Cyber threats don’t wait for business hours. We provide continuous monitoring and expert-led response that helps detect, investigate, and contain threats around the clock, so your organization stays protected, day and night.

Service Overview

Someone Is Always Watching Over Your Business

Most attacks happen when no one’s watching, after hours, on weekends, and during holidays. Our Managed Detection & Response service gives your organization a fully managed security operation that monitors your cloud services, firewalls, servers, and devices 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.

Minor issues are logged for expert review, while critical threats are automatically contained, so problems are stopped before they spread, even when your team is offline. You get the protection of an enterprise-grade security team without the cost of building one in-house.

Why Managed Detection & Response Matters

Protection 7 Days a Week, 24 Hours a Day

Most attacks happen outside business hours, when in-house teams are offline. Tecnet monitors your environment continuously, so threats are caught and contained at any time of day or night.

Automated Containment, not just alerts

Detecting a threat is only useful if someone acts on it. Critical issues are automatically remediated, including isolating affected accounts and devices, to stop threats from spreading while our experts investigate.

Full-Environment Visibility

Your infrastructure extends well beyond the office. We monitor cloud services, firewalls, servers, and endpoints together, giving you visibility across your entire environment, not just isolated pieces.

Reduce Alert Fatigue

Larger environments generate thousands of alerts. We triage them for you, logging minor issues, remediating critical ones, so nothing important gets lost in the noise.

Strengthen Compliance & Insurance Readiness

Continuous monitoring and documented, automated response increasingly support regulatory requirements and cyber insurance expectations.

Scale Without Building a Security Team

Gain a 24/7 security operation without the cost, hiring, and complexity of staffing your own security operations centre.

Cyber threats don’t keep business hours, and neither does our monitoring.

Our Process

How Tecnet’s Managed Detection & Response Works

Step 1

Monitor

We continuously monitor activity across your cloud services, firewalls, servers, and endpoint devices, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, for complete visibility into your environment.

Step 2

Detect

Advanced detection technology and threat intelligence identify suspicious behaviour, vulnerabilities, malware, and emerging threats as they appear.

Step 3

Triage

Minor and moderate issues are logged for expert review, while major and critical threats are flagged for immediate action, so attention goes where it’s needed most.

Step 4

Respond

Critical threats are automatically remediated, up to and including isolating compromised user accounts and devices, to contain the threat and prevent it from spreading.

Step 5

Report

You receive a clear report outlining the incident, the threats identified, and the actions taken, giving you full visibility into what happened and how it was handled.

What’s Included

What Our MDR Service Includes

Dark Web Monitoring

We monitor for lookalike domain registrations that may signal phishing attacks on your staff or imposter attacks on your clients (such as typo-squatting), and we watch the dark web for activity involving stolen credentials, stolen data, or other malicious behaviour directed at your organization.

Cloud Monitoring

We provide 24/7 monitoring of your cloud services, detecting and blocking suspicious or malicious behaviour across platforms including Microsoft 365 (Entra ID), Google Workspace, Amazon Web Services, Okta, Duo, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Box, Dropbox, and Zendesk.

Server & Endpoint Monitoring

Agent-based monitoring for Windows, macOS, and Linux servers and workstations. We inventory installed software, identify vulnerabilities, and monitor end-user behavior.

DNS Firewall

A curated, secure DNS service that checks every public domain lookup against known-malicious domains and IP addresses, blocking access to malicious services before a connection is ever made, and providing early warning of potential compromise. It supplements or replaces existing DNS filtering services.

Common Risks We Help Address

  • Threats that strike after hours, on weekends, or during holidays
  • Phishing and imposter attacks using lookalike domains (typo-squatting)
  • Stolen or leaked credentials traded on the dark web
  • Compromised accounts across cloud platforms like Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace
  • Unpatched software and unmonitored vulnerabilities
  • Suspicious user behavior and lateral movement following a breach
  • Access to malicious websites and services

    Frequently Asked Questions

Antivirus and EDR (Endpoint Detection & Response) are technologies that protect and monitor your devices. MDR is a fully managed service that monitors your entire environment, cloud, firewalls, servers, and endpoints, around the clock, and adds automated response on top of that technology. In fact, our service supplements and augments your existing anti-malware tools (like Microsoft Defender) by adding automation for containment actions. In short, EDR gives you the tools, MDR gives you the tools, the monitoring, and the response.

It depends on the severity. Minor and moderate issues are logged for expert review, while major or critical threats are automatically remediated, up to and including isolating the affected user account or device to contain the threat. This means critical issues are acted on immediately, even outside business hours.

A managed IT team and Managed Detection & Response do two different jobs. Your IT team keeps your systems running, maintained, and supported, typically during business hours. MDR is a dedicated security operation focused specifically on detecting and responding to threats, running 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, including overnight, weekends, and holidays when most attacks actually occur. In short, your IT team keeps your business running; MDR makes sure someone is always watching for threats and ready to act, even when everyone is offline. The two work best together.

Endpoint protection is an essential layer, but it focuses mainly on individual devices and often relies on your team to respond to alerts. MDR extends monitoring across your cloud services, servers, and network, and adds automated containment and expert oversight, protection that’s especially important for threats occurring after hours or moving beyond a single device. The two work together.

We monitor a wide range of business cloud services, including Microsoft 365 (Entra ID), Google Workspace, Amazon Web Services, Okta, Duo, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Box, Dropbox, and Zendesk, detecting and blocking suspicious or malicious activity across the platforms your team relies on.

Increasingly, yes. Many insurers and regulatory frameworks now expect organizations to have continuous monitoring and documented threat response in place. Our service helps demonstrate that capability and supports your broader compliance and risk management efforts.
