Partnership proof
Physical Security Run Like the Rest of Your IT
Cameras and door controllers sit on your network, draw power from your switches and connect to the cloud. When they are installed by a security contractor who never talks to IT, the result is devices on flat networks, overloaded switch ports and firmware nobody updates.
Tecnet is a member of the Verkada Premier Services Network, and we treat physical security as part of IT. We plan camera and door placement against the building and the risk, then handle the network segmentation, Power over Ethernet budget and cloud configuration that keep the system reliable.
That work has covered municipal government sites and a government building that needed access control, cameras and visitor screening brought together. Tecnet has served government, non-profit and business clients since 1974 and remains 100% Canadian owned.

Verkada Products and Services We Work With
Every Verkada product is managed from one cloud platform, Verkada Command. These are the areas we design, deploy and support.
Verkada security cameras Dome, bullet, fisheye and PTZ cameras for indoor and outdoor coverage, with onboard storage so there is no separate video recorder to buy or maintain.
Access control Door controllers, badge readers and mobile credentials with role-based access, so staff, contractors and visitors each get the access they need and nothing more.
Intercom and visitor management Video intercoms at entrances and digital visitor check-in, tied into access control so front desk staff can see who is at the door and let them in remotely.
Alarms and monitoring Intrusion alarms with camera verification, so responders see what triggered an alarm before deciding how to act.
Environmental sensors Air quality, temperature, humidity, noise and vape detection for washrooms, server rooms and spaces where cameras are not appropriate.
Verkada Command One browser-based console for cameras, doors, alarms and sensors across every site, with user permissions and audit logs so access to footage is controlled.
Network design and integration VLANs, PoE capacity and firewall rules planned before the first device goes up, so physical security devices are isolated from the rest of the network.
Coverage planning and site mapping Mapping of existing and planned cameras and doors, with each device ID recorded against its location, so coverage gaps are visible before installation rather than after an incident.

Upgrading municipal surveillance with Verkada cameras
A municipal government needed to replace outdated security systems that left gaps in coverage of public spaces. Tecnet selected Verkada CB62-TE, CH52, CD52 and CP52 models to match each location, then handled ordering, mounting, network integration, configuration and testing across 11 cameras. The upgrade was completed quickly with minimal disruption to the town’s daily operations, and the system can be expanded as needs grow.
Software ManagementModernizing access control and CCTV for a government building
A government building had outdated access control and no interior cameras in key areas. Tecnet introduced role-based RFID access for employees, a video intercom for guest authentication and upgraded camera coverage, using Verkada cameras to close blind spots and allow for future expansion. Access control and video now run as one security system.

A site walk with our team maps what your current cameras and doors cover, where the gaps are, and what a Verkada system would need to close them. You get a coverage plan and a budget you can take to leadership or a board.
Why Verkada
Why Verkada and Where the Video Lives
Verkada removes the video recorder from the equation. Footage is stored on each camera and managed in the cloud, so there is no box in a closet to fail, patch or run out of disk.
For BC organizations with privacy obligations, Verkada also lets you store camera video and images in a Canadian data centre. Processing still happens in the organization’s primary Verkada region, which for most Canadian customers is the United States. We walk through what that means for your privacy requirements during design, so the decision is made on purpose.

Cameras keep recording to onboard storage. Remote viewing and cloud features return when the connection does, and footage recorded during the outage is still on the camera.
Yes. Both run in Verkada Command, so a door event can be matched to camera footage in one place. On a recent government building project, we brought access control, a video intercom and cameras together as one security system.
