Veeam Backup and Replication Image-based backup for VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix AHV and physical servers, with application-aware processing for SQL Server, Exchange and Active Directory.
Immutable backup storage Hardened Linux repositories and object storage with immutability, so backup copies cannot be changed or deleted before their retention period ends, even with stolen admin credentials.
Veeam Vault Veeam’s own immutable cloud storage for the offsite copy, priced per terabyte, for organizations that do not want to run a second site.
Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 Backup of Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams, either self-managed or as a service through Veeam Data Cloud, with granular restores of individual items.
Replication and instant recovery Critical virtual machines replicated to a second host or site, and Instant Recovery that runs a machine directly from backup storage in minutes while the full restore completes.
SureBackup recovery verification Automated test restores in an isolated environment that confirm backups boot and applications respond, with reports you can hand to auditors or a board.

Veeam covers more platforms than most backup products: VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, physical servers, Azure and AWS workloads, and Microsoft 365, all from one console. For an organization with a mixed environment, or one planning to change hypervisors, that avoids running two or three separate backup tools.
It also keeps options open. Because Veeam runs on hardware and storage you choose, you can put the local copy on existing infrastructure and send the offsite copy to Veeam Vault or another immutable target, then change either one later without replacing the backup platform.

Datto suits organizations that want appliance, software and cloud copy bundled into one product. We work with both and recommend based on your environment.
Yes. A hardened Linux repository, immutable object storage or Veeam Vault stops backup files from being changed or deleted until their retention period ends. We treat at least one immutable copy as a baseline for every deployment.
Yes. Veeam can restore VMware backups to Hyper-V, Nutanix AHV or Azure, which gives you a controlled way to move workloads and a fallback if something needs to be rolled back.
Yes. Microsoft keeps the service running, but deleted items and older versions are only recoverable for limited periods. Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 gives you independent copies you control, with restores down to a single email or file.
