Microsoft’s built-in filtering handles most bulk spam and known malware. Barracuda adds impersonation detection trained on your users’ normal patterns, post-delivery removal across every mailbox, and DMARC management, which target the payment fraud and account takeover attempts that built-in filtering tends to miss.
DMARC tells receiving mail servers what to do with email that claims to be from your domain but fails authentication. Major mailbox providers now require SPF, DKIM and DMARC from bulk senders, and without it anyone can send email that looks like it came from you. Most organizations need it set up and monitored.
Yes. Barracuda Incident Response searches every mailbox for a reported message and removes all copies in one action, then blocks future copies automatically.
