Datto is built around that question. SIRIS and ALTO appliances keep a local copy for fast recovery and replicate to the Datto cloud for offsite protection. Screenshot verification boots each backup and captures proof that the system actually starts. If a server fails, it can be run as a virtual machine on the appliance or in the Datto cloud while the original is repaired.

Datto suits organizations that want a complete package: appliance, software, cloud copy and verification in one product with predictable pricing. Veeam suits larger or more complex virtual environments where the organization wants to choose its own storage and design. We work with both and recommend based on your environment and your team.
Yes. Microsoft keeps the service running, but deleted items and older file versions are only recoverable for limited periods. An independent backup such as Datto SaaS Protection lets you restore mailboxes, files and Teams data from well beyond those windows.
At least quarterly for critical systems, and after any major change to the environment. Datto’s screenshot verification checks every backup boots, and scheduled test restores confirm the whole recovery process works within the time the business needs.
Once the environment is contained, affected systems are restored from a clean backup point, either on the Datto appliance or in the Datto cloud. Critical servers can run virtually while the original hardware is cleaned or replaced, which shortens the time staff are unable to work.
