Partnership proof
A Microsoft Partnership Measured in Migrations That Went to Plan
Most organizations already pay for more Microsoft than they use. The licence includes device management, endpoint protection and conditional access, and the tenant still runs on passwords and the settings it shipped with. Closing that gap is where most of our Microsoft work sits.
Tecnet is a Microsoft Solutions Partner, supporting small organizations and large enterprises alike. Our team handles the work that decides whether Microsoft 365 ends up secure and usable: identity and MFA, device management, email and file migrations, licensing, and the governance that stops SharePoint and Teams from sprawling.
The track record is specific. We have moved 230 user mailboxes, 120 shared mailboxes and 21 public folders, more than 300 GB of data, into Microsoft 365 with zero data loss. We have taken a non-profit’s servers entirely into Azure in the middle of an office move. Tecnet is 100% Canadian owned and has served government, non-profit and business clients for more than fifty years.

Microsoft Products and Services We Work With
Microsoft bundles a great deal of capability into a small number of licences. These are the areas we design, deploy and support.
Microsoft 365 migrations and tenant setup Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams, moved from on-premises Exchange, hosted POP3 email or an older tenant. We run phased cutovers, use hybrid Exchange where the mailbox count calls for it, and carry post-migration support through our service desk and on-site technicians.
Identity and access with Microsoft Entra ID MFA, conditional access, single sign-on and Windows Hello for Business. On one rollout we moved MFA adoption from 10% during a voluntary self-enrollment phase to 96% compliance once conditional enrollment was switched on.
Device management with Intune Laptops and phones enrolled, configured and secured before they reach the user, with compliance policies that keep lost or unmanaged devices away from company data.
Microsoft Defender and security baselines Defender for Endpoint and Defender for Office 365 configured to the licence you already hold, with Microsoft 365 Lighthouse baselines applied across smaller tenants so security settings do not drift.
Azure infrastructure and migration Virtual machines, domain controllers, virtual desktops and line-of-business applications moved into Azure, with backup, reserved instances and documentation planned from the start so the monthly bill holds steady after go live.
SharePoint, Teams and Teams Phone Site structures, security groups and permission models that stay manageable as the organization grows. We also replace aging phone systems with Teams Phone so calling sits in the same place as chat and meetings.
Microsoft 365 Copilot readiness Permissions cleanup, sensitivity labels and data governance before Copilot is switched on, followed by licensing, a pilot group and training through our AI practice.
Licensing and cost reviews Matching Microsoft 365 plans to how people actually work, removing unused seats, and identifying where a Business Premium licence already covers a security product the organization is paying for separately.

Moving a property management company to Microsoft 365
A property management company was running on a legacy email system without modern security controls. Tecnet migrated 230 user mailboxes, 120 shared mailboxes and 21 public folders, more than 300 GB in total, using a phased plan and a hybrid Exchange cutover. Every mailbox moved with zero data loss, and a staged MFA rollout reached 96% compliance while property management operations carried on.
Software ManagementTaking a non-profit serverless with Azure
A non-profit relocating its office had to decide whether to move its servers, buy new ones or go to the cloud. Tecnet ran a phased migration of its virtual machines, domain controllers, virtual desktops and critical applications into Azure, then decommissioned the old servers and applied Azure VM reservations to control ongoing cost. The project finished on schedule with minimal disruption to services.

Why Microsoft
Microsoft with your data hosted in Canada
For BC organizations with privacy obligations, where data sits is a real question. Microsoft runs Azure regions in Toronto and Quebec City, and Microsoft 365 tenants set up with Canada as their location store core customer data, including Exchange mailboxes, SharePoint and OneDrive files, and Teams chats, in those Canadian datacentres.
That makes Microsoft a practical fit for public sector, non-profit and professional services clients that have to answer where their data lives. We confirm tenant location and data residency as part of every Microsoft 365 review, because older tenants and some add-on services do not always follow the default.

FAQ
Microsoft Partner FAQs
Yes. Tecnet is a Microsoft Solutions Partner with a long-standing Microsoft relationship, supporting organizations from small offices to large enterprises across British Columbia.
Microsoft 365 Business Premium covers most organizations up to its 300 user limit. It includes Intune, Entra ID P1 with conditional access, and Defender for Business. Organizations over 300 users, or with heavier compliance requirements, move to E3 or E5. A common pattern we see is an organization on Business Standard paying separately for security tools that Business Premium already includes.
Yes. We plan migrations in phases, move mailboxes and files in the background, and schedule the final cutover to limit disruption. On our largest recent migration, more than 300 GB moved with zero data loss and minimal downtime.
For tenants set up with Canada as their location, core Microsoft 365 data such as mailboxes, SharePoint and OneDrive files, and Teams chats is stored in Canadian datacentres. Older tenants and some add-on services can differ, so we check your tenant specifically.
Only after a permissions review. Copilot can surface anything a user already has access to, so loose SharePoint and OneDrive permissions become visible very quickly. We clean up access, apply sensitivity labels, and start with a pilot group before a wider rollout.
Yes. We have offices in both, and we support Microsoft environments across Metro Vancouver, Greater Victoria and Vancouver Island.
