Tecnet is back at it again for another year of fundraising for our Christmas Hamper. For the second year in a row, we are working with a local school right here in our community to give back to local families.

Last year, we all banded together to create an amazing Christmas hamper for a local family. The family was immensely thankful and lives right here in our community proving what a positive impact we can make when we work together.

We have been asked to participate again this year – running an initiative to promote healthy eating and good nutrition with the hopes of it developing into a long-term healthy lifestyle. This goal is not only to promote habits of good nutrition, but also seeks to develop them in ways that are affordable for the families involved. There is a local co-op called “The Good Food Box” – which is run out of Fernwood in Victoria and provides a subscription to locally sourced fruits and vegetables at cost. It does not seek to make profit, is volunteer run and becomes more sustainable as more people use it. It supports local farmers, increases healthy choices of food, and seeks to provide produce at the lowest cost possible.

In lieu of providing a more traditional Christmas Hamper this year, we are gathering donations in order to help provide a long-term subscription to the Good Food Box for local families. We hope that this will help alleviate some of the financial stress that comes with buying groceries.

December 21st update: we are incredibly pleased to announce that Tecnet raised over $700! This contribution will help multiple families well in to the new year. Thank you to all of of our staff who fund raised and donated.
